The Rabat-Sale tramway Company (STRS) announced in a press release, the commissioning today, February 16, of extensions to line 2 of the tramway network in the two cities.
With the opening of these sections, the tram network is expanding by 7 km and 12 additional stations, said Tuesday a press release from the Tramway Company of Rabat-Salé (STRS), specifying that line 2 allows serving the district of Yacoub Al-Mansour in Rabat and the districts of Hay Moulay Ismail and Al-Karia in Salé.
The flagship mobility project of the Rabat-Salé tramway, launched by King Mohammed VI, is part of Sovereign’s enlightened vision for the capital of the Kingdom, giving pride of place to sustainable public projects that meet the expectations of citizens.
From now on, the Rabat-Salé tramway network totals 27 km and 43 stations and will transport 40,000 additional passengers per day, bringing all trips on the network to 150,000 daily.
The start of operation at the level of the extension of line 2 comes after the finalization in February 2022 of a period of conclusive technical and rolling tests, the press release concludes.
