A security source categorically denied reports stating that Moroccan authorities have changed the designated names for the Ceuta and Melilla border crossings, stating that there was no deletion of the word “border.”

The security source also denied, in clarifications to Hespress AR, that the General Directorate of National Security wrote to its foreign interests, with the aim of changing the names or visual identities of security personnel and procedures at the Bab Ceuta and Melilla crossings.

The same source stressed that the organizational structure of the interests of the Central and Decentralisation Directorate is regulated by legal and regulatory texts, and has not been recently subject to any modification or completion.

In addition, the source stated that the administrative organization of border crossings, whether air, sea, or land, distinguishes only between security areas, regional commissions, and special commissions, according to the size and importance of the crossing, and does not refer to its border nature, such as the Tangier-Mediterranean security area, the Special Commission for the Guerguerat crossing, and the Casablanca port security area.
