Two Houthi rockets struck a Saudi Arabian city in the early hours of Monday morning, wounding two people and shooting down one in a southern industrial area.
As a result of a missile strike, workshops and civilian vehicles were damaged in the industrial area located in Jazan town, western Saudi Arabia.
Two residents were injured, one of Bangladeshi nationality and the other of Sudanese nationality, reports The National.
Several hours later, Saudi air defense teams shot down a missile over Dhahran Al Janub, a border town. The debris from the missile caused damage to the ground, according to Saudi State Media reports.
A statement by the Saudi-led coalition said a ballistic missile launcher used in the intercepted attack in Al Jawf, a northeast Yemeni province, had been destroyed.
In addition, the coalition also intercepted two drones launched from the province of Jawf at the kingdom.
In recent years, Houthi attacks have become more and more frequent, with air defense teams intercepting rockets and drones almost daily.
With the start of the war in 2015, the Houthis have developed sophisticated drones and missiles. Analysts and officials say that the Iranians and their main proxy, Hezbollah, have aided the Yemeni rebels.
Additionally, a ballistic missile aimed towards Abu Dhabi was also shot down early on Monday, according to the UAE Ministry of Defence.
In its statement, the UAE defense ministry said the attack “did not result in any casualties, as the remnants of the intercepted and destroyed missiles fell in several different spots around the Emirate”.
