The National Social Security Fund (CNSS) announced that retailers, artisans and other professionals registered on the Single Professional Contribution system (CPU), will now benefit from Mandatory Health Insurance (AMO).
This decision concerns sellers, artisans, freelancers and self-employed individuals, and is a result of the implementation of decrees relating to this professional status, approved by the Government Council on November 17.
According to the CNSS’s statement, Moroccans from this category benefitting from the AMO will see their coverage extended to their children and spouses.
The schedule of implementation, in addition to the necessary administrative process beneficiaries will need to follow was outlined in the statement.
The CNSS announced contributions will be retracted starting this December 2021, for beneficiaries of the CPU. Benefits will be accounted for starting January 1, 2022.
For retailers and artisans keeping accounting records, redactables are due starting January 1, 2022, and will be able to benefit from the AMO starting February 1, 2022, while for auto-entrepreneurs and freelancers, the dates are February 1 and March 1, 2022, respectively.
Registrations have been set to launch on December 1, 2021, for different sector actors in this category.
The AMO came into effect back in 2005, and has since undergone significant improvement in terms of its service coverage, in addition to it being gradually extended to other segments of society, beyond declared private sector professionals within private companies.
