Fuel prices increased in different fuel stations in Morocco on Thursday, in line with the pace of the international oil price hike that has been going on for days.
At a gas station in Rabat, the price of one liter of gasoline reached MAD10.09, while the price of gasoline was about MAD11.89.
This rise comes as a result of the high increase in prices from exporting countries, as the price of a barrel of Brent crude recently increased to $85.73, while a barrel of West Texas crude reached $83.40.
This rise came as COVID-19 restrictions have been eased around the world, contributing to the recovery of fuel consumption, affecting a number of oil-importing countries, including Morocco.
Previously in September, Brent’s oil price exceeded $ 80 in China, a threshold that has not been crossed since October 2018.
In early 2020, the brent price was around $16. The investment bank forecast said Brent would hit $90 a barrel before the end of this year.
