The risk of dying from COVID-19 was 11 times higher for unvaccinated adults than for fully vaccinated adults in the US last August, according to data from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Unvaccinated adults faced 6 times higher risk of testing positive for COVID-19 throughout the month, and in the last week of August, the risk of being hospitalized was nearly 19 times higher for unvaccinated adults than fully vaccinated adults.

The risk of infection remains much higher for unvaccinated than vaccinated people.

Studies so far show that vaccinated people are 25 times less likely to experience hospitalization or death, vaccines remain the solution in protecting most people from COVID-19 infection, according to the same source.

However, International Scientists on Covid-19 said that the anti-covid-19 vaccines wane in terms of efficiency over time, recommending a third booster shot after at least six months in order to bring out more antibodies.
