Fully vaccinated travelers will be able to fly to Thailand quarantine free, Thai officials announced today.

In Asia, Thailand was the first country beside China to record a Covid-19 case in January of last year.

Thailand initiated relaxing the measures on September, including delaying curfews and reducing quarantines.

Today, Thailand is ready to welcome travelers from at least 10 low-risk countries, including United Kingdom, United States, Singapore, Germany, and China with no quarantine requirements.

“The time has come for us to ready ourselves to face the coronavirus and live with it as with other endemic infections and diseases, much as we have learnt to live with other diseases with treatments and vaccinations,” Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha said in a televised speech.

The decision has yet to be finalized and official approved. Orders to the country’s Ministry of Public Health and Center for COVID-19 to consider the plan has been sent and is expected to be considered by the ed of next week.

“I know that such decision has risk and it is almost certain that the daily number of COVID cases will increase once we begin to relax measures but we will closely monitor the situation,” reported Thai Enquirer. “This is the high season and we cannot miss this opportunity.”

Visitors from the low-risk nations will need negative test results before landing on Thailand. While visitors arriving from all other countries will still have to meet the existing quarantine requirements.

However, the no-quarantine list will witness some modifications on December 1st, and later on January 1, pledged by the Thai Prime Minister.
