Morocco officially launched on Sunday, “Morocco now,” a new investment and export brand at the Dubai World Expo 2020.
The initiative was launched in partnership with the Moroccan Investment and Trade Agency (AMDIE), in order to attract investment and export opportunities.
“Morocco Now” comes as the Kingdom launched its new development model, aiming to grow a productive and diversified economy, and strengthen human capital.
“Morocco Now is based on a successful experience of economic transformation that makes Morocco a reliable destination, with high investment and export potential,” said AMDIE director Youssef El Bari
The platform aims to encourage investors in multiple fields, including agribusiness and automotive, by highlighting the country’s pro-business environment and competitive nature.
El Bari noted during the initiative’s launch that over the past 20 years, Morocco has acquired first-rate trade and transport infrastructure and has entered the path of industrial take-off.
The AMDIE head also stressed the rapidly changing nature of the world economy, noting that environmental issues, consumer pressure, and regulation make it essential to adopt a clean economy.
The Covid-19 pandemic additionally led to a reorganization of global value chains towards a less global dependence and more regional integration.
Accordingly, “Morocco Now” represents an industrial platform fit to seize opportunities in the world’s ever-changing economy.
The brand was launched as part of “Morocco week”, created by AMDIE and the General Confederation of Enterprises of Morocco (CGEM) in the Moroccan pavilion at the Dubai Expo.
The week from October 10 to 16 will be marked by scientific, economic and business events to “highlight a modern and connected Morocco, enhance the Kingdom’s investment opportunities,” according to a press release from the Moroccan pavilion.
The Moroccan pavilion, supported by its partners and sponsors, will take part in nearly 80 events throughout the expo, as organizer, speaker or participant during the Expo’s various thematic weeks.
