The new edition of the Paris Fashion Week, kicks off today in the fashion capital of the world, with the presence of big names in the fashion industry as well as new brands, according to AFP.

This new edition will be the opportunity to discover the ready-to-wear spring and summer 2022 seasons collections for women, as well as eagerly awaited new trends.

The event also marks the return of face-to-face fashion shows after they were replaced with digital presentations due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We are delighted with the return and the presence of other brands”, said Pascal Morand, executive president of the Federation of Haute Couture and Fashion in a statement to AFP, adding “All the big houses are there with a few exceptions, there are new brands, and we can feel this desire for the physical shows.”

The first day will be dedicated to young designers such as the Weinsanto brand of Victor Weinsanto, which recently joined the official calendar.

Big brands in the fashion world will also mark their presence physically in this new edition, including Valentino, Hermès, Balenciaga, Givenchy, Louis Vuitton, and Chanel.

Unlike the Fashion week held in London, where the guests have taken off their masks. This time, fashionistas will be required to wear their masks in the Paris show.

The Versace x Fendi Spring / Summer 2022 show has also taken place on Friday, with the presence of the pop star Dua Lipa, alongside Gigi Hadid, Irina Shayk, and Naomi Campbell.

Dua’s song Physical was played at the start and by the end of the show, marking the return of physical fashion shows to life again.
