Moroccan football club Athletic Tetouan announced that it has dropped its Spanish coach Toni Cosano.
The Maghreb Tetouan had sacked Toni Cosano after only two rounds of the Second Division League had passed.
The club announced Cosano’s departure on Facebook, stating ‘Gracias Toni Cosamo’.
Cosano is the tenth coach to leave in the last two seasons under the president of Maghreb Tetouan Radwan Ghazi, joining the list that includes Biadero, Caneda Sektioui, Reda Hakam, Belhamer, Jamal Aldredib and Zoran Maulovic.
Cosano’s dismissal was expected after he contributed to the team’s relegation to the second league but his historic qualification for the first time to the Throne Cup final kept him in his position.
The coach’s departure comes after the two defeats that the team suffered in the first two matches of the second division championship, making the Maghreb Tetouan rank last with no points.
The team is expected to work with Abdellatif Jrindou this season with the help of former Wydad sports defender Hicham Al Louissi.
The Tetouan team contracted ten new players during the last summer transfer period, after, while Nasir Al-Mamouni and Mohsen Al-Asheer had their contracts renewed, in preparation for the competitions of the second section of the professional championship.
The Tetouan team is currently in the last row in the second division of the professional championship after two matches.
