Morocco reported 917 new Covid-19 cases on Monday, raising the number of cases since the beginning of the outbreak to 905,564.

The kingdom also recorded 72 deaths in the past 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health.

Morocco continues to push its vaccination drive, in an effort to reach mass immunization.

As of Monday, the country has already fully vaccinated 16,667,989 people, while 20,154,375 people received their first vaccine shot.

Morocco is set to begin vaccinating adults using the Pfizer BioNTech vaccine, according to member of the scientific committee Moulay Said Afif.

The Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine was set at first only for teens aged 12 to 17, following the Ministry of National Education’s decision in order to ensure a safe return to schools.

The Pfizer vaccine is the 4th anti-COVID-19 vaccine that Morocco was able to receive, after Sinopharm, AstraZeneca, and Janssen.
