Democratic Nahj Party: the election is rigged and the PJD won't win
Tuesday 31 August 2021 - 23:07

In the 7th episode of the road to election, Hespress interviewed Mustafa Al-Brahma, the national secretary of the Democratic Nahj Party. Brahma’s party since its inauguration in 1995 has never taken the election road and the case is not different this year.

Brahma started first by commenting on Algeria’s last decision of severing ties with Morocco. Brahma explained that the two countries have a history of conflict and severing ties over raised tensions in a timeline of decades.

He added that the last decision by Algeria may be a political move by Algerian military, which is looking for an outsider enemy to distract the Hirak in the nation.
The position of the Democratic Nahj Party regarding the recent developments in the Western Sahara and the intervention of the Royal Armed Forces in the Guerguerat sparked controversy on social media

The National Writer of the Democratic Nahj Party called, in a statement back then, to “avoid escalation and war in the Western Sahara, and to adopt the method of peace and dialogue to spare the region and its people the scourge of war.”

Brahma renewed, during the interview, his party’s calls to peace and the adoption of international conventions and United Nations resolutions to resolve the issue of Western Sahara in a way that guarantees the right of the Sahrawi people to self-determination and serves the goal of the unity of the Maghreb peoples.

The democratic Nahj party’ national secretary commented on Covid-19 era, saying that Moroccan proletarian interest have been damaged severely during the pandemic as many workers have been laid off while the government stopped the fund support, directed to them, after a short amount of time.

He added that we cannot say that the vaccine is completely free since Moroccan people payed for it from the social security fund as the government took 1.4 billion dollars from the social fund to finance the vaccination.

On the national politics, Brahma stated that the election is rigged and controlled. And his party is trying to politically organize the Moroccan’s reluctance of voting to a political organized boycott.

He added later that his party doesn’t believe in changing and developing the country by political contribution in the government unless the current political system is radically changed.

After a historical introduction to the origins of the current political system in Morocco, Brahma accused Moroccan parties by corruption and described them as objects in the hands of the Makhzan system.

Answering the question of which alternative his party represents, Brahma answered by a political system that represents the people, where Moroccans are in charge to choose their representatives and institutions.

In the same interview, Brahma refuses to admit that the constitution assures the division of power between the government and the palace since the king’s speeches still have the ultimate power over the strategic decisions.

Brahma assumed that the PJD won’ win this election after its 10 years of scandals and failures as the contractual recruit strategy that he called it nonsense.
In the end, he looked straight to the camera, and addressed Moroccan people, asking them to boycott the election, telling them that they are in the right road and they should be proud of their actions and don’t listen to people who try to convince them otherwise.
