Morocco reported 7 357 new Covid-19 cases in the past 24 hours, bringing the total of cases recorded in the country since the pandemic began to 836 494.

The rise in cases continues to bring about high numbers of fatalities as Morocco reported 97 new Covid-19 related deaths on Thursday.

The country is relying on its national anti COVID-19 vaccination campaign in an effort to curb the rise of infections. According to the ministry of health, 18 022 176 people received their first Covid-19 vaccine jab, while 14 068 939 were fully inoculated.

Morocco recently extended the vaccination push to children aged 12 to 17 in a bid to achieve mass immunization and stop the Delta-led spread of the Coronavirus.
