The US Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) published a recent advisories list in which Morocco and the Bahamas are categorized among the highest risk destinations for travelers.
The CDC’s list ranges from Level 1 (“very low”) destinations to Level 4 (“very high”). That is to say, every country with more than 500 Covid-19 cases per 100,000 residents fell into the Level 4 list.
Countries in the “Level 4: Covid-19 Very High” notice are destinations to which traveling should be avoided, the CDC recommends. However, travelers who wish to head to the level 4 destinations can do so under the condition of being fully vaccinated.
Morocco was officially categorized as a Level 4 destination on August 23 alongside the Bahamas, Haiti, Kosovo, Lebanon, and Sint Maarten.
The countries were all previously ranked as Level 3 destinations.
Albania, Bosnia, Herzegovina, Brunei and Liechtenstein shifted from Level 3 on Monday to level 1.
“Fully vaccinated travelers are less likely to get and spread Covid-19. However, international travel poses additional risks, and even fully vaccinated travelers might be at increased risk for getting and possibly spreading some Covid-19 variants,” stated the agency.
