The son of Morocco’s Industry and Trade Minister Ryad Mezzour is due to appear before the Tetouan Court of First Instance on Sept. 23 over allegations stemming from an altercation involving police officers, according to information obtained by Hespress on Friday.
The minor was brought before prosecutors before being referred to an investigating judge, who ordered his release to his mother pending further proceedings.
The case followed a fight involving several young people near a restaurant in Tetouan. A police officer intervened before additional units arrived, after which the encounter allegedly escalated into an argument involving insulting remarks and resistance to officers.
Police opened an investigation into the circumstances of the incident and questioned the minor under procedures governing juvenile cases.
The allegations remain subject to judicial proceedings, and the suspect is presumed innocent pending a final ruling.
