Cadi Ayyad University (UCA) in Marrakech holds first place nationally in the July 2026 edition of the Webometrics university ranking, which evaluates the performance of higher education institutions based on the visibility of their digital resources on the web, the openness of their scientific productions, and the scientific impact of their publications.
At the Maghreb level, UCA ranks first, the University emphasizes in a press release, noting that it also features among the top 30 African universities and holds the 1,420th position globally out of more than 32,000 evaluated universities.
“These results are a testament to the university’s continuous efforts toward academic and scientific excellence, the increasing accessibility of its digital resources and open science, and the dissemination of knowledge on a national and international scale,” the same source states.
This performance adds to the excellent results obtained by UCA in other international rankings published in 2026, UCA continues, citing in particular its position as the 1st Moroccan university in the UniRank ranking, the 2nd Moroccan university in the CWUR ranking, where it ranks in the top 5.3% of universities worldwide, as well as the 2nd Moroccan university in the QS Sustainability Rankings.
“These results illustrate the commitment of all UCA components in implementing its strategy, which aims to address the complex and growing challenges of comprehensive, integrated, and sustainable development,” the same source concludes.
