The United Arab Emirates condemned Iran on Friday, after two vessels affiliated with state oil company ADNOC were attacked while crossing the Strait of Hormuz, the UAE Foreign Ministry said in a statement issued the same day.
ADNOC said the vessels were struck Thursday evening, with no injuries reported and the situation brought under control.
Britain’s maritime security agency UKMTO separately reported two drone attacks on vessels transiting the strait, causing minor damage but no casualties.
The UAE described the attacks as a violation of freedom of navigation and accused Iran of using the strategic waterway for economic coercion.
