Ajax Amsterdam have officially announced the signing of Moroccan defender Fouad Zahouani from Union Touarga Sport on an immediate transfer, the Dutch club confirmed on Friday.

The 20-year-old has signed a contract in Amsterdam, subject to the completion of several formalities, which will keep him at the club until June 30, 2029, Ajax said in a statement.

Zahouani will initially join Jong Ajax (U23), the Amsterdam club’s reserve team.

Born in Casablanca, Zahouani (20) is a product of the prestigious Mohammed VI Football Academy, the club noted, adding that the Moroccan player joined the youth teams of Union Touarga Sport in mid-2024, before being quickly promoted to the first team six months later.

A natural full-back, Zahouani played a key role in Morocco’s triumph at the 2025 FIFA U20 World Cup.
