Rabat, 23/04/2026 (MAP) – The Morocco-Russia Parliamentary Friendship Group in the House of Councillors, chaired by Fatima El Hassani, held a meeting with a delegation from the Russia-Morocco Parliamentary Friendship Group in the Federation Council of Russia, led by Alexander Dvoinykh, who is on a working visit to the Kingdom.
This meeting is part of efforts to strengthen parliamentary diplomacy and enshrine cooperative relations between the two legislative bodies, according to a press release issued Tuesday by Morocco’s House of Councillors, noting that it provided an opportunity to reaffirm the strength of Moroccan-Russian relations and to discuss the momentum generated by the Royal visit to Moscow in 2016, which breathed new life into the strategic partnership between the two countries.
Both sides also spoke of the role of friendship groups in supporting parliamentary dialogue, exchanging mutual visits, and fostering the development of bilateral relations, the same source adds.
They further examined prospects for cooperation in the fields of maritime fisheries, digital transition, cybersecurity, energy, and the pharmaceutical industry.
The two sides agreed to continue coordinating efforts and to strengthen parliamentary cooperation in the interests of both countries.
