Nexus Core Systems, a company specializing in artificial intelligence infrastructure, plans to invest MAD 12 billion to build an AI factory in Morocco, creating 125 direct jobs by 2027.
The project includes the development of high-performance computing (HPC) infrastructure, a data center, a center of excellence focused on high-value services and skills development, and an innovation hub to foster emerging solutions and strengthen the AI ecosystem.
This announcement was made during the GITEX Africa Morocco 206 where Nexus Core Systems, the Ministry of Digital Transition and Administration Reform, and the Moroccan Agency for the Development of Investments and Exports (AMDIE), signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU).
Digital Minister Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni emphasized that “the launch of the Nexus AI Factory platform will help develop digital infrastructure and strengthen Morocco’s capabilities in digital and artificial intelligence.”
The project will be carried out in two phases.
The first phase, the Nouaceur Hub, involves an investment of MAD 5 billion to activate a capacity of 16 MW at the Nouaceur site, marking the operational launch of the project and generating 50 direct jobs.
The second phase, the Northern Expansion, will mobilize an additional MAD 7 billion for a new site, adding 20 MW of capacity and bringing the total installed capacity to 36 MW by the end of 2027.
The CEO of Nexus Core Systems, Kaap Zuiderveld, stressed that Morocco stands out for its political stability, strong leadership, and talent, adding that the Nexus AI Factory will combine shared expertise within a center of excellence to run global operations from Morocco.
