Royal Air Maroc has recorded a marked drop in demand on several routes to Doha and Dubai, according to a source inside the Moroccan national carrier cited by Hespress, as travelers avoid non essential trips because of the war and airlines face the risk of operating underfilled flights.
The airline has already suspended its Dubai service through April 15 and its Doha service through June 30 because of the regional security situation.
The picture is different for Umrah traffic, which the source said has remained steady. Moroccan pilgrims can still travel on direct services to Saudi Arabia, mainly operated by Royal Air Maroc and Saudia, or on indirect routings through transit hubs such as Istanbul.
Royal Air Maroc and Saudia both continue to market Morocco Saudi Arabia services, while direct departures to Jeddah and Medina have so far remained unaffected, according to sector reporting and airline booking platforms.
