The Moroccan Dirham (MAD) remained stable against the euro and appreciated by 0.5% against the USD during the period from March 19 to 25, according to Morocco’s central bank, Bank Al-Maghrib (BAM).
During this period, no tender operations were conducted on the foreign exchange market, BAM indicated in its weekly indicators bulletin.
Official reserve assets stood at MAD 459.9 billion as of March 20, 2026, down 0.9% week-on-week and up 23.9% year-on-year.
Regarding BAM’s interventions, they amounted to a daily average of MAD 160 billion during the said period. This volume is broken down into 7-day advances amounting to MAD 63 billion, longer-term repurchase agreements for MAD 54.2 billion, and guaranteed loans for MAD 42.8 billion.
On the interbank market, the average daily trading volume reached MAD 4.4 billion, and the interbank rate stood at 2.25%.
