One person was killed and eight others injured in a serious road accident on Saturday on the route linking Nador and the commune of Saka in eastern Morocco, according to a local source.
The accident involved two vehicles carrying a total of nine people, which overturned under circumstances that remain under investigation.
The victim died at the scene from severe injuries, while the remaining passengers suffered varying degrees of injuries and were rushed to hospital for treatment.
Members of the Royal Gendarmerie arrived at the scene to secure the area and document the incident. The victim’s body was transferred to a morgue pending further investigation.
Authorities have opened an investigation to determine the exact causes of the crash.
