The Moroccan dirham depreciated by 0.5% against the euro and by 0.8% against the US dollar during the period from March 5 to 11, according to Bank Al-Maghrib (BAM).
During this period, no auction operations were carried out on the foreign exchange market, BAM said in its latest weekly indicators report.
Official reserve assets stood at MAD 461.3 billion as of March 6, down 0.2% week-on-week and up 25.8% year-on-year.
Regarding Bank Al-Maghrib’s interventions, they totaled an average of MAD 153.4 billion per day during the period from March 5 to 11, 2026. This amount was distributed between 7-day advances totaling MAD 56.4 billion, longer-term repurchase agreements (MAD 55.1 billion), and secured loans (MAD 41.9 billion).
On the interbank market, the average daily trading volume reached MAD 3.8 billion and the interbank rate stood at 2.25%.
During the tender held on March 11, 2026 (value date March 12, 2026), the Central Bank injected MAD 60.5 billion in the form of 7-day advances.
As for the weekly trading volume, it declined week-on-week from MAD 3.9 billion to MAD 2.6 billion, mainly carried out on the central equities market.
