Morocco’s Health and Social Protection Ministry has ordered the withdrawal of all batches of the injectable tetanus antitoxin serum marketed as “Sérum Antitoxine Tétanique 1500 U.I.B.P,” citing a notification from the Pasteur Institute of Morocco.
In a directive issued through its Directorate of Medicines and Health Products Supply, the ministry told regional health officials to immediately stop using the product in their facilities. The instruction was sent to the director general of the territorial health group in Tangier Tetouan Al Hoceima and to regional directors nationwide.
The ministry also ordered health services to return available quantities without delay to the stock management unit at the Berrechid warehouse, pending replacement supplies.
The ministry said the move is part of pharmacovigilance measures and efforts to ensure medicine safety in health institutions, and called for strict compliance with the directive.
