Morocco’s fuel pricing outlook remains uncertain as February ends, with retailers and station operators awaiting the next scheduled price update that is expected to take effect in early March, an industry source and an official from the national federation of fuel station owners and managers told Hespress.

The source said the market is in a wait and see phase, with informal projections circulating in professional circles but no final figures confirmed. Expectations, the source said, center on two scenarios: either a slight increase in retail prices for diesel and premium gasoline, or price stability at current levels.

Any advance estimate remains speculative until distributors communicate their official pricing decisions, the source added.

Pump prices currently observed at service stations in Rabat were around 10.57 dirhams per litre for diesel and about 12.26 dirhams per litre for premium gasoline, with minor variations across regions linked to commercial policies by different operators, according to the same reporting.

February saw notable changes in posted prices. At the start of the month, several major market players applied increases of about 0.35 dirhams per litre for diesel and around 0.11 dirhams for premium gasoline. A further increase of roughly 0.25 dirhams per litre for both products was recorded on Feb. 15, described as the latest known formal adjustment ahead of the expected March update.

The source linked the February rebound to a volatile start of the year. The January 2026 update produced declines of 0.44 dirhams per litre for gasoline and 0.65 dirhams for diesel, which is Morocco’s most imported and most consumed fuel, the source said.

International crude prices were trading in a moderate range of roughly 65 to 72 dollars a barrel at Friday’s close, with geopolitical tensions supporting prices and supply surplus weighing on them, the source said, pointing again to stability or a slight rise as the most likely outcomes.
