The Egyptian Embassy in Morocco denied reports that it had rejected visa applications from Royal Army Club football fans seeking to attend the team’s match against Al Ahly in Cairo on Feb. 13.
In a statement, the embassy said all visa applications submitted with complete documents were processed promptly, and no requests were left pending. It clarified that the consular section only received the applications on Feb. 5, after the travel company handling the requests submitted the required documents, including flight information.
The embassy added that the travel company bore full responsibility for the delay, noting its prior familiarity with embassy procedures. Once the applications were received, the visas were issued on Feb. 6 “in record time compared with standard processing periods.”
The embassy reaffirmed its commitment to facilitating travel for Moroccan citizens to Egypt, including attendance at major sporting events, and reminded travelers of the October 2025 rules allowing Moroccans with valid visas or residencies from Schengen countries, the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Japan, Australia, New Zealand, or Gulf states to obtain visas upon arrival at Egyptian ports.
