The Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch, received, in Rabat on Thursday, representatives of new national and foreign investors whose projects were selected by the steering committee as part of the “Morocco Offer” for green hydrogen, and the meeting marked the signing of Preliminary Land Reservation Contracts.
Attended by the Director General of the Moroccan Agency for Sustainable Energy (MASEN), Tarik Moufaddal, this meeting is part of the implementation of the “Morocco Offer” for green hydrogen, in line with the Royal Vision which strives to position the Kingdom among the countries with high potential in this promising sector, the Head of Government’s office said in a press release.
At the outset of the meeting, the Head of Government praised the efforts made to process the numerous projects submitted by investors and global leaders in the green hydrogen sector, reiterating the government’s commitment to the optimal implementation of the “Morocco Offer,” which constitutes a practical and attractive framework encompassing the entire green hydrogen value chain in Morocco.
Akhannouch emphasized that the Kingdom of Morocco’s commitment to developing the green hydrogen sector, under the enlightened leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him, is a decisive turning point today for achieving energy sovereignty, due to the country’s rich and diversified natural resources, the quality of its national expertise and Morocco’s ability to build balanced and efficient partnerships.
We recall that the selection of investors set to implement five new structural projects in the Kingdom’s three southern regions was conducted using a scientific and transparent methodology and that the reservation of public land dedicated to these strategic projects is subject to mechanisms guaranteeing its preservation and proper use, the press release concluded.
