Morocco national team coach Walid Regragui confirmed on Tuesday that nearly all players are ready for the Africa Cup of Nations 2025 semifinal against Nigeria, scheduled for Wednesday evening at Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.
Regragui said midfielder Azeddine Ounahi remains sidelined due to injury, while defender Romain Saïss has returned to training, with his participation to be decided after the final session. “Except for Ounahi, all players are ready,” he added.
Speaking at a pre-match press conference, Regragui emphasized the team’s preparation and focus ahead of the tournament’s crucial match. “We continue to prepare for the semifinal after reaching this stage for the first time in years. We face a strong team, but we are ready to win and reach the final,” he said.

The coach praised Morocco’s performance in the quarterfinals and highlighted tactical flexibility, noting that calculated risks are sometimes necessary. He also addressed refereeing controversies, saying such disputes occur worldwide and stressing that the team’s response is through performance on the pitch.
Regragui acknowledged criticism directed at coaches in Morocco, saying, “I fight for my country, and sometimes I face criticism even after winning. I hope the coach who follows me will achieve even better results.”
He concluded by noting that both Morocco and Nigeria field some of the continent’s best players.
