A large-scale humanitarian operation to shelter homeless people was carried out Friday in El Jadida as part of national efforts to protect vulnerable populations from falling temperatures and harsh weather conditions.

The campaign was organized by the National Initiative for Human Development, in coordination with the provincial delegation of National Mutual Aid, the Health and Social Protection Ministry, local authorities, and a civil society group focused on women and children.

A temporary shelter was activated and equipped with blankets, mattresses, hot meals, and basic medical services.

Teams conducted nighttime patrols across several neighborhoods under rainy conditions to identify people without shelter and transport them to the reception center while preserving their dignity and safety.

According to provincial officials, several individuals received medical checkups before being admitted. Others who declined accommodation were provided with food and blankets on site.

Authorities said the operation forms part of the Winter 2025 campaign and will continue alongside efforts to reunite beneficiaries with their families where possible.
