Morocco’s Royal Armed Forces have deployed three military medical and surgical field hospitals to mountain communities under instructions from King Mohammed VI, the supreme commander and chief of the general staff of the armed forces, the military said.
The field hospitals were set up in the communes of Ait M’hamed in Azilal province, Ouirgane in Al Haouz province and Tounfite in Midelt province, according to a statement from the General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces.
The deployment comes amid harsh winter conditions and a sharp drop in temperatures affecting rural and mountainous areas. The initiative reflects the King’s continued attention to populations living in remote regions facing difficult climatic conditions, the statement said.
The armed forces mobilized the necessary human and logistical resources to ensure a rapid and effective response, aimed at meeting urgent health care needs in the targeted areas.
The mobile hospitals are intended to provide medical services to residents who face limited access to health care during the winter season.
