Morocco’s international Nayef Aguerd, a key player in Olympique Marseille’s defense, will return to action against Toulouse FC on Saturday in Ligue 1, OM coach Roberto de Zerbi has announced.
“Aguerd should be back to the squad. It is already good news to have him back in shape,” said the Italian coach at a press conference on Friday ahead of the match scheduled for the 14th matchday.
After being taken off due to injury during the match against Brest (3-0) on November 8, Nayef Aguerd missed the Atlas Lions’ two friendly matches against Mozambique and Uganda, played on November 14 and 18 in Tangier, respectively, as part of their preparations for the 2025 AFCON in Morocco.
A graduate of the Mohammed VI Football Academy, the 29-year-old Moroccan international (57 caps) signed with Marseille last September for five seasons, until June 2030.
