Morocco’s U17 team were eliminated from the World Cup in heartbreaking fashion after Brazil scored a stoppage-time winner to seal a 2–1 victory and reach the semifinals.
The cubs, dominant in long phases and courageous throughout, equalised late through a penalty converted by Zyad Baha but conceded again in added time when Dell completed his brace.
Morocco began the match strongly, controlling possession and unsettling Brazil, but frustration mounted after two penalty shouts were waved off.
Having already used their single VAR challenge on the first incident, the Moroccan bench could not request a review on a second contentious contact. Brazil capitalised immediately, opening the score in the 16th minute through Dell.
The cubs responded before the break, earning a penalty deep into first-half stoppage time and equalising 1–1. Morocco kept pushing after the restart, with Baha forcing one of the match’s biggest chances at the 59th minute, but a Brazilian defender blocked his shot on the line.
As the match drifted toward extra time, Brazil struck again in added time, punishing Morocco’s missed opportunities.
Despite the defeat, the cubs leave the tournament with one of their strongest international showings to date.
