Morocco’s General Directorate for Information Systems Security has increased surveillance and response operations this year, reporting 879 cyber-incidents, 109 of which required direct intervention by its national cyber-response centre, according to figures presented to Parliament.
The data were outlined by Abdellatif Loudiyi, the minister delegate in charge of national defence, during the 2026 budget presentation.
Loudiyi said 76 public-sector web applications and systems considered critical infrastructure were audited between January and September 2025, identifying critical vulnerabilities in 20 of them.
Technical analysis of exposed IP addresses and domain names led to the issuance of 22 security alerts on potential weaknesses.
The cyber-response centre has issued 511 security bulletins this year, including 248 rated critical. The directorate also carried out 12 field operations to support public and strategic bodies in setting up security-operations capabilities.
Training efforts continued with specialised workshops and an additional master’s programme in information-systems security launched at Technopark Casablanca. More than 1,500 officials have received cybersecurity training since 2012, Loudiyi said.
A national cyber-incident simulation exercise brought together 73 teams from administrations and critical institutions.
As the national authority for cybersecurity, the directorate has also expanded qualification procedures for private-sector audit providers, certifying eight companies and 46 auditors as of 30 September 2025, with six applications under review.
