Kenya’s ambassador to Morocco, Jessica Muthoni Gakinya, arrived in Laayoune on Thursday with a delegation of Kenyan investors ahead of an economic-promotion forum scheduled in the southern city.
According to local sources, the programme includes meetings with regional authorities and elected officials, along with site visits to major development projects in logistics, renewable energy and the marine sector.
The visit forms part of the growing diplomatic and economic engagement between Rabat and Nairobi, aimed at expanding investment cooperation and technical exchanges.
Kenya has reiterated that the Moroccan proposal offers a “credible and pragmatic” framework under UN efforts. The visit follows the latest UN Security Council resolution on the Sahara and signals Nairobi’s interest in strengthening its role in development initiatives across Morocco’s southern provinces.
