Ksar El Kebir authorities arrested a suspect in the killing of a 6-year-old girl whose body was discovered Tuesday morning near Al Mahdi Ben Barka middle school.
According to Hespress sources, the suspect, a minor born in 2009, was taken into custody within hours of the discovery and placed under police supervision, pending investigation under the supervision of the public prosecutor.
The victim, identified as Hidaya, had gone missing on Monday evening from her family’s home in the Oulad Ahmaid district. Her body, showing signs of severe injuries, was found the next morning near the school.
A judicial investigation has been opened to determine the full circumstances of the crime, which has shaken the city.
