A teacher was killed Sunday in a road accident on a sharp bend along the provincial road linking Moulay Issa Ben Driss and Ouzoud in central Morocco’s Azilal province, local Hespress AR sources said.
The victim was driving a light vehicle toward Ouzoud when his car skidded on the hazardous curve, veered off the road and crashed, killing him instantly from severe injuries, the same sources said.
Royal Gendarmerie and Civil Protection teams rushed to the scene, transferring the body to the Azilal provincial hospital morgue. Prosecutors have ordered an investigation to determine the circumstances of the crash and establish responsibility.
The stretch of road where the accident occurred is considered one of the most dangerous in the province due to its sharp bends and poor conditions, and has been the site of repeated accidents, prompting renewed calls for infrastructure improvements to prevent further fatalities.
