A domestic flight operated by Royal Air Maroc (RAM) turned into a frustrating ordeal Sunday night after passengers were left waiting for more than five hours due to a prolonged delay.

Flight AT1403, scheduled to depart from Oujda’s Angads Airport at 7:05 p.m. local time en route to Mohammed V International Airport in Casablanca, did not take off until around 1 a.m. Monday, according to passengers.

The aircraft eventually landed in Casablanca at approximately 3 a.m., leaving many travelers exhausted and angry, with several expressing frustration over the impact on their schedules.

Passengers told Hespress AR that they received limited information during the delay, which added to their distress.

A source within Royal Air Maroc acknowledged the delay, noting that customers are generally informed in advance. The source attributed such disruptions to a range of variables beyond the company’s control.

“Some flights are interconnected with others arriving from international or domestic destinations, which can lead to delays,” the source explained.

The representative added that delays are a common issue for all airlines, particularly during peak travel seasons such as the end of summer holidays, when high passenger volume can strain operations.
