The General Delegation for Prison Administration and Reintegration has denied allegationscirculating on some news websites that an inmate at Tangier 2 Local Prison was “eliminated” on the orders of a prison official, stating that the inmate died from complications related to asthma.

In an official statement obtained by Hespress, the prison administration confirmed that the deceased, identified as F.D.G, was urgently transferred to Mohammed VI University Hospital in Tangier after falling unconscious. Medical teams attempted to resuscitate him using a Déchocage protocol, but the inmate was pronounced dead on August 17, 2025.

The prison authority emphasized that “claims of physical liquidation are baseless,” noting that the head of the prison’s security and discipline department was not even present at the facility on the day of the inmate’s death. The statement added that there had never been any previous conflict between the deceased and the official.

Given the seriousness of the accusations, the Tangier 2 prison administration announced it has filed a formal complaint with the competent public prosecutor against those responsible for spreading the false allegations.
