Police in Agadir arrested two men Monday on suspicion of possessing and trafficking drugs and psychotropic substances, authorities said.
The suspects, aged 32 and 33, both with prior criminal records, were detained following precise intelligence provided by the General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance.
According to the Agadir police department, officers apprehended the first suspect at the bus station in Inezgane after he arrived on a passenger bus from a northern Moroccan city. A search uncovered 2,200 ecstasy tablets in his possession.
Investigations led officers to identify a second suspect linked to the criminal activity. He was arrested during a security operation in Agadir.
Both men were placed in police custody pending an investigation supervised by the competent public prosecutor’s office to determine the full circumstances of the case and identify any potential links to wider drug trafficking networks.
