Hundreds of Moroccan winners of the 2025 US Diversity Visa Lottery have expressed growing concern over prolonged delays in receiving interview appointments at the US Consulate in Casablanca, despite having submitted complete and timely applications.
In a formal letter addressed to the consular section, applicants noted that many of their case numbers have been eligible for months, as confirmed by the US State Department’s Visa Bulletin.
As the program operates under a strict deadline ending 30 September 2025, applicants warned that the continued silence and processing delays are causing severe psychological distress and risking the loss of what they describe as a life-changing opportunity.
One applicant told Hespress that conflicting information between the Kentucky Consular Center (KCC), which claims the files have been forwarded, and the Casablanca consulate, which denies receiving them, has further fueled confusion.
Several affected Moroccans have sent repeated inquiries to US authorities in Casablanca, Rabat, and Washington, but say they have received no consistent response.
Many say they have already resigned from jobs or abandoned studies in preparation for emigration.
