Morocco’s home-based national football team departed Sunday from Rabat-Salé Airport en route to Nairobi, Kenya, to participate in the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN), a tournament reserved for players competing in their domestic leagues.
The competition will take place across three East African nations — Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania.
Drawn into Group A, the Atlas Lions will face host nation Kenya, along with Zambia, Angola, and the Democratic Republic of Congo — a lineup widely considered one of the most competitive groups in this year’s tournament.
Morocco will kick off its CHAN 2024 campaign next Sunday with a match against Angola.
