The Moroccan women’s national taekwondo team achieved a historic milestone by securing a bronze medal at the 2025 World Taekwondo Team Championships in Chuncheon, South Korea. The prestigious tournament, held from July 7 to 9, brought together elite teams from around the world.
After being eliminated in the semi-finals by top-ranked China, the Moroccan team clinched third place with a well-earned victory over France, winning two rounds to none.
Morocco’s success continued in the mixed pair competition, where the national team claimed a silver medal. The squad—composed of Fatima Zahra Nemssi, Mariam Khalal, Ahmed Benbakria, Ayoub Yassini, Sofia Ben Younes, and Moubarak Kajji—defeated India 2-0 in the quarter-finals and edged past China 2-1 in a hard-fought semi-final. They eventually fell to Uzbekistan in the final.
