Morocco has strongly condemned Israel’s continued assaults on the occupied Palestinian territories, labeling them a flagrant violation of international law and human rights principles.

The statement came during an interactive dialogue on the situation of human rights in the occupied Palestinian territories, held at the United Nations Human Rights Council’s 59th session at the Palais des Nations in Geneva.

In its address, Morocco called for the immediate cessation of Israeli military operations, urging a return to the political negotiation track as a step toward a permanent ceasefire. The Moroccan delegation emphasized that such a move is essential for restoring peace and stability in the region.

Morocco also urged the international community to act swiftly to end the escalating violence in the West Bank, particularly denouncing home demolitions and the forced displacement of unarmed civilians.

The Kingdom reiterated its demand for safe and unhindered humanitarian access to both the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, rejecting any obstacles that might delay or block humanitarian efforts.

Rabat highlighted the importance of implementing the reconstruction plan approved during the recent emergency Arab summit in Cairo. It called for the plan to be managed by the Palestinian Authority under Arab and international supervision and stressed that it should proceed without any form of forced displacement.

In conclusion, Morocco reaffirmed its longstanding and principled support for the Palestinian cause, underscoring the need for a serious commitment to the political process as the only viable path to a just and lasting peace that guarantees the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.
