Moroccan Dirham Appreciates by 0.3% Against US Dollar Over June 5-11

The Moroccan dirham appreciated by 0.3% against the US dollar and remained almost stable against the euro during the period from June 5 to 11, 2025, according to Bank Al-Maghrib (BAM).

During this period, no auction operations were carried out on the foreign exchange market, BAM stated in its latest weekly indicators bulletin.

Official reserve assets stood at 399.8 billion dirhams (MAD) as of June 6, down by 0.5% week-on-week but up by 8.3% year-on-year.

As for BAM’s interventions, the average daily volume reached MAD 130.4 billion over the week of June 5 to 11. This amount is distributed between 7-day advances (MAD 51.9 billion), longer-term repurchase agreements (MAD 44.6 billion), and guaranteed loans (MAD 33.9 billion).

On the interbank market, the average daily trading volume stood at MAD 3.3 billion, while the interbank rate averaged 2.25%.

As for the weekly trading volume, it fell from MAD 2.7 billion to MAD 1.6 billion week-on-week, mainly driven by activity on the central equity market.
