The Ministry of Industry and Trade has confirmed the dumping of Egyptian-origin polyvinyl chloride in the Moroccan market, following the first phase of an investigation launched in November. The probe was conducted under Law No. 15.09 on trade protection measures.
The ministry announced plans to impose anti-dumping duties: 74.87% on Egyptian company EPC and 92.19% on other Egyptian exporters. EPC responded to the ministry’s inquiry, but another key exporter, TCI, did not submit answers.
The investigation focused on basic-form PVC under customs code 39.04.10.90.00. Authorities reported a sharp increase in Egyptian PVC imports during the investigation period, which significantly undercut domestic prices and harmed Morocco’s local industry.
The ministry cited declining economic and financial indicators in the national production sector, market share losses, and a steep drop in investment returns. It concluded that Egyptian imports have caused material injury to Moroccan producers.
