A man carrying large U.S. and Israeli flags through the crowd sparked sudden tension during the Workers’ Day rally of the Democratic Confederation of Labor (CDT) in Mohammedia.

The unexpected act, which unfolded in front of the main stage and amid dense crowds, was swiftly condemned as “provocative and unacceptable” by organizers and participants alike.

Protesters erupted in anger, chanting against normalization and denouncing what they saw as an affront to their staunch support for the Palestinian cause.

Security forces quickly intervened to contain the situation, averting further escalation
