The National Motorway Company of Morocco (ADM) is advising drivers to anticipate significant traffic delays on the country’s highway network during specific peak periods at the beginning and middle of May 2025.

In a public announcement Wednesday, ADM specified that heavy traffic is expected between 3:00 PM and 10:00 PM on Thursday, May 1st and Friday, May 2nd, and again between 9:00 AM and 1:00 PM on Saturday, May 3rd. Further congestion is anticipated between 4:00 PM and 10:00 PM on Sunday, May 11th, coinciding with expected holiday return travel.

To promote safer and smoother journeys during these busy times, ADM issued several recommendations for highway users. Drivers are encouraged to plan their trips in advance and stay informed by checking real-time traffic conditions via the ADMTRAFIC application before setting off. ADM also advises checking the weather forecast and exercising extra caution if driving in strong winds, heavy rain, or fog.

Furthermore, motorists are reminded to take rest breaks approximately every two hours of driving and to ensure their vehicle’s tires are in good condition. The company stressed that the emergency lane should be reserved strictly for urgent situations. Finally, drivers using the Jawaz electronic toll system should check their pass balance and recharge it if necessary before traveling; ADM noted passes can also be purchased and recharged at service stations along the highways.

The company stated that this advisory is part of its ongoing efforts to enhance service quality and contribute to a safe and pleasant travel experience for motorists using the national highway system.
