By the end of 2024, Morocco had 40.2 million internet subscribers, according to updated figures from the National Telecommunications Regulatory Agency (ANRT). This shows an increase of about 2 million compared to the end of 2023.

Mobile internet remains the most used, making up 93.09% of total subscriptions. Fixed internet represents only 6.59%.

Among ADSL users, 71.75% have speeds below 8 Mbps, while 28.25% use speeds above that.

In terms of market share, Wana Corporate and Médi Télécom (Orange) together account for 69.24% of internet subscriptions. Maroc Telecom holds the remaining 30.76%.

The number of fixed phone line subscriptions also grew, reaching 3.037 million in 2024, up from 2.874 million in 2023.

Maroc Telecom has the largest share at 54.35%, followed by Médi Télécom at 26.13% and Wana Corporate at 19.53%.

The ANRT also received 1,156 consumer complaints about phone and internet services in 2024, which is a 14.24% drop from 2023.

The majority (64%) were related to service quality, and 12% were about number portability.

Most complaints came from individual users rather than companies. ADSL services were the most mentioned in complaints, followed by fixed phone services.

The number of complaints decreased over 2024: 322 in the first quarter, 270 in the third, and 208 in the last quarter. The average time to handle a complaint was 15 days.

As for domain names, registrations under “.ma” domains reached 123,891 by the end of 2024, up from 118,998 the year before.

About 93.7% of these are simple “.ma” domains, with others using formats like “co.ma” (3%) or “gov.ma” (0.7%).
