Portuguese manager José Mourinho has issued special instructions to Moroccan striker Youssef En-Nesyri, signaling his expected return to Fenerbahçe’s starting lineup for Sunday’s clash against Sivasspor in the 30th round of the Turkish Süper Lig.
After being left out of the squad for last week’s 4–1 win over Trabzonspor, En-Nesyri was reportedly urged by Mourinho to stay sharp and prepare for a key role in the upcoming fixture. According to Turkish outlet Sporx, the coach told the striker: “Be ready, your time is coming.”
The report states Mourinho is planning a tactical shift to energize the attacking front, positioning En-Nesyri as the starting central forward. The strategy includes support from Anderson Talisca, the dynamic Brazilian playmaker, who will be given freedom to operate behind En-Nesyri — a combination aimed at maximizing offensive fluidity.
Mourinho’s revamped setup is designed to leverage En-Nesyri’s pace and physicality, alongside Talisca’s movement and vision, to stretch opposing defenses and create scoring opportunities.
En-Nesyri has had an impressive season so far, scoring 26 goals and providing 6 assists in 44 matches across all competitions. He currently sits fourth in the Süper Lig scoring charts with 16 goals.
The shift in approach suggests Mourinho is looking to diversify his attacking options as the league campaign enters its critical phase, with Fenerbahçe continuing to chase domestic honors.
